Perhaps you saw them named in your moving contract, or maybe you came upon them through an Internet search. The American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA) is a centralized entity located in Virginia that oversees the relocation industry.
Many movers are members of the AMSA, especially interstate movers. If your mover is, you can at least trust that they aren’t a scam. Additionally, if things do get a bit scammy, then you can address the problem through the AMSA’s arbitration programs
