Oceanside is a city north of San Diego. It’s a beautiful beach town, with hills of homes and main streets that ride up to the edge of the Pacific. On those streets are plenty of great restaurants, bars and shops, and on the waves just beyond them are plenty of surfers, bathers and vacationers.
However, as pristine as Oceanside might be, it’s not without its negatives, including steep property values and terrible traffic and parking. Additionally, getting from there to San Diego requires a sizable drive on the highway, and just north of the city is a restricted military base.
