Military relocation is not easy. Whether the military is moving you or not, there are a lot of documents and procedures you need to follow. Screwing them up can lead to wasted time and money.

Here are our three tips to always keep in mind:
- Communicate with the Military whether through your TMO or the move.mil website. If you keep in contact and ask questions, you’ll be fine.
- Move What You Can – Even if you need the military to plan most of your move, just packing up your car with stuff can lead to cash in your pocket. See Partial DITY moves.
- Take Advantage of Your Status – Moving companies and hotels offer deals for service members, because they know you all move a lot, and they want your business. Shop around a bit for services, and see what deals they have.
