Top 7 Ways to Make Moving Fun

We won’t candy coat.

Moving is hectic. It’s sweaty. It’s tough, ruff and tumble. However, there are ways to make moving fun, at least fun like practicing for a sport can be fun. Here are our top 7 ways to make moving easier on your soul:

  • Get musical – Pack the speakers last, you know what we mean? Boom, boom, boom.
  • Hummmmm – When things get a bit overwhelming, like when you stub your toe on a door corner and drop a box of dishes down the stairs, stop, breathe, and think of all the ways it could be worse. Stare at something that’s not the broken dishes or your foot and ponder its existence. Be zen.
  • Have food & drinks – Order a pizza and drink some soda or coffee.
  • Plan to party post-pack / post-move – Nothing is as good of motivation as a nice cold one when your done, whether it’s ice cream or a cream stout. Have a spot in mind.
  • Work in shifts – Don’t plan to do it all in one afternoon. Pack, break, pack, break, load, drive, break, etc.
  • Have help – You’ll probably end up arguing with your helping hand, but it’s better than yelling at yourself.
  • Shoot for Saturday – Saturday mornings are prime for moving. Everyone around you is relaxed, and if you don’t finish it all, there’s always Sunday!
