Self-service moving
You pack and load; a carrier drives. A middle ground that usually costs well under full service.

What a real quote should include
- The estimate type: binding, non-binding, or binding not-to-exceed.
- An inventory or a survey the price is based on, not a guess over the phone.
- Packing, materials, stairs, long carries and shuttle fees listed separately.
- The valuation coverage included, and the cost to increase it.
- The mover's licence details: USDOT for interstate, state licence for local.
Compare at least three quotes. A number far below the others usually means something has been left out of the scope, not that you found a bargain.
